As a garden designer, I’ve always been passionate about creating spaces that blend beauty, functionality, and durability. That’s why I was thrilled to be part of the South-East Homebuilding & Renovating Show on 18th-19th January in Farnborough. It’s one of the UK’s best events for anyone looking to create their dream home, and this year, I had the pleasure of exhibiting with my trusted trade partners, London Stone.
For over 30 years, the Homebuilding & Renovating Show has been the go-to event for homeowners who want expert advice, inspiration, and high-quality products to bring their vision to life. This year was no different, and as an exhibitor, I was eager to showcase our work—not just as an award-winning design firm, but as a design-and-build company that truly delivers on all fronts.
A Trustworthy Partnership
One of the highlights of our exhibit was the composite decking we installed on our stand, supplied by London Stone. Their range of products has always been integral to the success of our landscaping projects, and I personally trust them for their exceptional quality, reliability, and customer service. Whether we’re working with porcelain paving, composite decking, or metal pergolas, London Stone’s products never disappoint. They provide expert guidance on the best use of their products, ensuring that each project meets the highest standards.
For this show, we chose London Stone’s Cinnamon Composite Decking. As a designer, seamless colour harmony is vital, and the subtle blend of beige and grey in the Cinnamon planks makes it an incredibly versatile choice. The decking complements various house bricks and patio slabs, making it the perfect addition to any garden.
Craftsmanship in Action
Our landscaping team installed the composite decking at the exhibition in just one day, and the result was stunning. Not only did the decking provide a seamless, high-quality finish, but it also gave visitors a first-hand experience of London Stone’s products in situ. The event saw heavy foot traffic over the two days, and despite this, the decking still looked as good as new. Even after a slight accident (a box of blueberries was dropped on it!), a quick wipe with some washing-up liquid restored the decking to its original condition—testament to its durability and low-maintenance design.
The clever clipping technology that secures the boards to the underframe also made it incredibly easy to dismantle the stand. In just a couple of hours, we had everything packed up and ready to use again. We’re looking forward to showcasing the same decking at our next show in June, and we’re confident that visitors will continue to be impressed by the product’s elegance and performance.
A Lasting Impression
The finished stand was a great success, and we had a steady stream of visitors interested in learning more about our designs, as well as London Stone’s premium products. It was fantastic to hear so many compliments about the quality of both the decking and our work as a whole. We couldn’t have asked for a better showcase of our design and build expertise, and we’re excited to continue this collaboration with London Stone for future projects.
